The Coventry Kids

Keeping in line with my posts about the good times on Coventry, I want to introduce some of the coolest MoFos on the block - The Coventry Kids.

I could go on and on about how much I love these guys and how awesome they are but I won't.

Just check out their site THECOVENTRYKIDS.COM and when you're in the area, drop by Heart & Sole and The Above Boutique and say hello. (While you're there, stop in Brigade and say hello to Dan The Man. Post coming soon....I can't give you all the good stuff at once.)

My Favorite Things - Music Blog Edition

It feels like the more new music I discover, the stronger my disdain for mainstream tunes. One blog that consistently delivers GOOD music is BlindIForTheKids. They put together these CRAZY mixtapes every month (both new and older music) in addition to posting new songs. Enjoy!

Mmmmm beefy....

I stopped eating pork about 4 years ago. The toughest part was giving up bacon and Honeybaked Ham (during the holidays).

Turkey bacon was a reasonable substitute but recently I discovered beef bacon. This stuff is God sent!

Its great. Amazingly great.

If you live in Cleveland, you can get it at the Westside Market on W. 25th. I don't think I've seen it in any stores.... Either way, its worth the trip.

My Favorite Things - Bloc Party

Bloc Party is a London-based band that I discovered at Lolla this past summer. Over the months, they have grown to be one of my obsessions. I heart this band and their entire discography.

They will actually be in the U.S. on tour in March. I'm going to catch the show in Chicago on March 28th so if you'll be in the city you should definitely come. It's like a week after my birthday so it's automatically going to be a good time.

Oh yeah, I just discovered today that Bloc Party is on Twitter. Don't be afraid to be a follower.

IB3 ~ Cheat On You

I'm not really into posting random songs that I hear out in these streets (or out on this Internet) but if I like something, I support it b/c I want you to like to it.

The Houston Homie IB3 has a song called "Cheat On You" that I think is pretty dope. (Yes, girls cheat too.) Check it out HERE.

If you're not already checking for IB3, you should be.

You never know.... maybe you'll hear a collab one day. IBeezy does have a song called "Party Animal" in the works..... maybe she'll let me feature on it.... After all, NO ONE parties like me. No One. :-)

Tis The Season

I hope everyone enjoyed yesterday, whether you celebrate the Christmas holiday or not.

As I get older, it is more difficult for me to get into the holiday spirit. The only thing that makes me feel merry and jolly is listening to the 8 Days of Christmas cd by Destiny's Child. Of course my opinion is biased, but this is my favorite contemporary Christmas cd. If you haven't heard it, you should check it out. It originally came out in 2001 but it's still worth checking for.

My Favorite Things - Day 1

Oprah does a "My Favorite Things" show. I like Oprah. I like the put people on to things that I like. So.... from time to time I'm going to post some of my favorite ish.

American Pimp - Best Movie of All Time - I don't care what you say, there is no better piece of cinematic footage ever captured. It's really a documentary... but that's what makes it great. It's real accounts from real life pimps. I don't even really watch movies but I know this entire movie line for line. I'm pretty sure you can watch it in parts on youtube or you can read up on it via wiki.

R.P. is by far the most entertaining pimp. Gorgeous Dre was actually on myspace at one point... I wonder if he'll ever join Twitter??? On yeah, I decided that when I finally get my dog, I'm going to name him Rosebudd (with 2 Ds for a double dose of this pimpin').

PARTAKE!
